Rose To Light
From Grief To Light
"Named for my grandmother Rose — who we lost to suicide in 2023. Her life, her love, and the gap she left is what moved me to create a space where teens don't have to navigate loss alone."
THE STORYGrief doesn't come with instructions.
When I lost my grandmother, Rose, to suicide in 2023, everything changed, but not in a way I knew how to explain. It wasn’t just sadness. It was confusion, guilt, and a constant loop of “what if I had known more?” and “what if I had said or done something different?”
What made it even harder was how quiet everything felt. Not because people didn’t care, but because no one really knew what to say. And honestly, neither did I.
That’s where Rose to Light began.
Not just from loss, but from the feeling of being completely unseen in it.
Because grief doesn’t only come from losing someone. It can come from losing parts of your life too, friendships changing, people leaving, or chapters ending before you’re ready. I think a lot of people, especially teenagers, feel that… even if they don’t always have the words for it.
I created Rose to Light to be the space I wish I had, a place where people feel understood, not judged. Where hard feelings aren’t ignored, and you don’t have to pretend you’re okay when you’re not.
I’m still learning. I’m still healing. But if sharing my story helps even one person feel a little less alone, then that’s where the light begins.
